Microsoft Windows Server 2008 certification system details

June 14, Microsoft’s MCP LiveMeeting officially announced the roadmap for Windows Server 2008 certification. Concern Certified Microsoft’s new server operating system has finally opened a mysterious veil.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 certification system will use Microsoft’s next-generation authentication architecture, which MCT MCITP certification system.
Microsoft’s new certification system:
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): focused on configuring and troubleshooting key technologies. Focus on configuration and troubleshooting of key technologies
Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): focused on advanced infrastructure design. Focus on the design of advanced infrastructure
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 MCTS certification system would involve the following aspects:
1, Active Directory Domain Services AD Domain Services
2, Identity and Access Management Identity and Access Management
3, Internet Services Internet Services
4, Terminal Services Terminal Services
5, Networking Infrastructure Network Infrastructure
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 MCITP certification system would involve the following aspects:
1, Infrastructure Operations infrastructure implementation
2, Active Directory Design and Planning AD design and planning
According to examine the contents of the above, Windows Server 2008 system, there will be three exams MCTS, respectively, examine the AD, system architecture and application platform, the specific subjects:
70-640: TS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring Windows Server 2008 AD configuration
70-642: TS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration
70-643: TS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Platform, Configuring Windows Server 2008 Application Platform Configuration
MCITP Windows Server 2008 system, there will be two exams are:
70-646: Pro: Windows Server 2008 Administrator Windows Server 2008 Administrator
70-647: Pro: Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator
Note: This is no affiliation between the two MCITP, we should say, Windows Server 2008 administrators to focus on system management, maintenance; Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator focused on the system plan, plan, deploy, manage and maintain
After through 70-640 and 70-642, plus exam 70-646 to become MCITP: Server Administrator, a total of three exams to be passed.
640 + 642 + 646 = MCITP: Server Administrator
And to become MCITP: Enterprise Administrator, must be adopted on the basis of 70-640,70-642 and 70-643, plus test client systems test 70-620: TS: Configuring Microsoft Windows Vista Client or 70-624: TS: Deploying and Maintaining Windows Vista Client and 2007 Microsoft Office System Desktops, after adding 70-647 exam, it will take through the five exams.
640 + 642 + 643 + 620 (or 624) + 647 = MCITP: Enterprise Administrator
Possible at this stage, we are most concerned about is how MCSE (MCSA) certification to upgrade to the new certification. Here I will explain how to upgrade to MCSE and MCSA certification of next-generation operating system.
First, I want to clarify is holding MCSE 2000 or MCSA 2000 certification from friends, cannot directly upgrade to the new certification system. Only holders of Windows Server 2003 system certification friends can upgrade. That is, if the holder MCSA 2000 certification, the need to take 292 test, upgrade to MCSA 2003; hold MCSE 2000 certification, the need to participate in 292 and 296 exams to upgrade to MCSE 2003, and then participate in the corresponding upgrade to the new certification exams.
And, holding MCSE (MCSA): Security and safety directions MCSE (MCSA): Exchange the direction of friends, a new certification system, will no longer have these two directions, the test’s content has been covered in the new certification test subjects . And about ISA Server and Exchange Server will have separate MCTS and MCITP exams (for Exchange Server 2007 certification has been introduced, as detailed in Microsoft’s official site www.microsoft.com/learning/).
If you hold MCSA 2003 certification, then add test 70-648: Upgrading your MCSA on Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008, will receive the MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring and MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure MCTS these two certificate.
MCSA + 648 = MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring
+ MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring
= 640 + 642
If you hold MCSE 2003 certification, then add test 70-649: Upgrading your MCSE on Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008, will receive the MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring, MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure and MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Platform, Configuring all three MCTS certificates.
MCSE + 649 = MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring
+ MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring
+ MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Platform, Configuring
= 640 + 642 + 643
Note: All the promotion examinations are not directly upgrade to the MCITP certification.
Therefore, the holding MCSA 2003 or MCSE 2003 certification friends, upgrade to MCITP, need to consider the relevant Pro plus examination, namely:
MCSA + 648 + 646 = MCITP: Server Administrator to test a total of 2
MCSA + 648 + 643 + 620 (or 624) + 647 = MCITP: Enterprise Administrator to test a total of four
MCSE + 649 + 646 = MCITP: Server Administrator to test a total of 2
MCSE + 649 + 620 (or 624) + 647 = MCITP: Enterprise Administrator to test a total of three
Recommendation: Therefore, I strongly recommend, is now ready to MCSE certification and the future plan to upgrade to Windows Server 2008 certification of friends, with 620 instead of 270 as the now popular MCSE exam client system, so the upgrade to MCITP: Enterprise Administrator certification time, without having to test 620 test!
